willkwok Store This upright Sega Virtua Racing machine is a racing classic. It is in decent cosmetic condition, with normal wear and tear from usage. The sound is crisp, the screen image looks great, the coins are accepted, and it has the ability to accept a lock on the coin slots (lock not included). The steering wheel has great force feedback, the gear shifts work perfectly fine, and it is very playable. Once in a while, the machine freezes up, but I believe this is because the previous owner did a Mickey Mouse job in replacing the power cord (see video). The cabinet walls still have the original sticker art on either side of the machine. On the back of the machine, there is a cabinet lock. I can not find the key to this lock, so you’ll have to get a lock cutter, locksmith, or dremel tool to remove the lock. Wikipedia shows that is the first racing machine to ever use polygons for that “realistic” simulated racing, using a Model 1 board. This game like others isn’t that common in the table top format as Atari produced limited numbers of the cocktail version. Game has been checked out and working 100%. All sensors, switches, led’s and light bulbs have been checked and cleaned for many hours of reliable game play. This game was recently pulled out or our arcade as we’ve upgraded to some newer games. All the controls and knobs work, and the electronics (i.e., the actual game) work flawlessly. Donkey Kong, created by Nintendo, was and still is one the most popular games ever made. The game features the first appearance of Nintendo icon Mario (though his name in the game originally was “Jumpman” – “Mario” wasn’t given that name until the appearance of the game Donkey Kong Jr.). The game also introduced the equally iconic giant ape, Donkey Kong. The game Donkey Kong is also the subject of the wonderful 2007 documentary “The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters,” which is well worth watching. Our teenage son is selling this machine after years of fun with this game. He has developed a passion for photography and is raising money to acquire vintage cameras and film, as well as to cover the cost of developing and printing photos. Please note that there is some age on the cabinet that is visible in the pictures. Other than expected aging on the cabinet itself, the only other known flaw is that the right coin slot needs repair. The left coin slot works fine.
