For the past five years, the largest Nintendo team in history has been hard at work on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The upcoming Zelda game features a massive open world over twelve times the size of the map in Twilight Princess and comparable in size to the vast world of Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Dedicated fans have tried to figure out just how big the map is, with some estimating it to be about 140 square miles in size, and Arekkz Gaming is the latest group to take a stab at it. Their analysis video takes the size of the E3 demo area (estimated at around 2% of the total game), the Great Plateau, and attempts to extrapolate the size of the total game based on its size relative to the rest of the map. Additionally, they throw in some comparisons to other large games, such as Grand Theft Auto V and The Witcher 3. You can check it out by clicking above.
