A Hat in Time is one of those incredible labors of love that the only an incredibly passionate and talented fan could bring to life, and it's definitely alive. Seen in the video above, A Hat in Time is being developed solely by Jonas Kaerlev, a Danish software student who also goes by Mecha the Slag. It has a bit of the Banjo-Kazooie/Donkey Kong 64 soul to it, but beautifully polished graphics with a hint of Wind Waker in them. Judging by the description of the game on Jonas' website, it's made for pure fun and frivolity, and has a lot of character; very Rare indeed.

In an interview with Jonas on Nintendo Everything, he states that he's found a publisher who's very interested in moving the game to the Wii U; here's hoping he finds the legs to get it there. Of course, with any huge undertaking like this, fan support means everything. If you like what you see so far, head over and give him some words of encouragement; he's put countless hours of work into every single texture you see in the video.
