Atlus has confirmed via GTTV that the company has picked up the publishing rights to Zombie Studios' first-person horror game Daylight. The scares are randomly generated, so the player will never be prepared for a scare.

Here's the game's official description.

"Waking up in an abandoned hospital with only your cell phone for illumination, you explore the institution's dark criminal past as you attempt to escape. In Daylight no two experiences are the same, and it is best played alone in the dark.

Daylight introduces gamers to a procedurally generated world that replicates the horrifying nature of Daylight over and over again, but creates a different environment for each new game. Each time the player begins a new game, they experience a new world with new content and encounters; from the layout of the building and the things they seek to the events they encounter, it is never the same experience twice."

Daylight arrives in 2014 on PlayStation 4. It is a download-only title on PSN.

Team Ninja and Tecmo Koei have released a trailer for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. The game is a spin-off of the Ninja Gaiden series we all know and love, with an emphasis on zombies.

A new Tales of Xillia English story trailer was released yesterday on GameSpot's Youtube channel. The new trailer shows off some of the impressive animation and voice acting in the new game. Tales of Xillia stars two main protagonists, Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell. In the game you play through each of the protagonists stories, though most of the time the two protagonists will be together. The game is set to be released in the US on August 6, 2013, and Europe on August 9, 2013.

The Last of Us is the highly anticipated third-person survival horror game made exclusively for the PlayStation 3 by the highly acclaimed video game developer Naughty Dog. To build some hype with the general population, Sony has released a live action television trailer. The trailer shows a man turning into Joel, most likely as a representation of the hardships the gamer has to go through in the game. The trailer has Ellie narrating, asking you to take up arms, what you would do to survive, and what you would do to protect her.

Update: Square-Enix UK has uploaded an English version of the trailer- See it after the jump

I won't lie - I'm still shocked that Square Enix has actually decided to make a third in the Final Fantasy XIII series, even though it was initially announced quite a while back. It feels almost surreal to live in a world where a developer forges forth with a set of characters and plot lines despite their cultural status being near-universally panned.

Anyway, Square Enix has jumped the gun on their upcoming E3 show to give the world a new glimpse into the world of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This time around, Lightning apparently switches outfits depending on the occasion and sports a nifty pair of sunglasses, and there appears to be quite a bit of melodrama going on. Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese and there are no subtitles, so basically all of it is lost on me.

Stay tuned for the inevitable English version, which will probably make the goings-on much clearer.

Konami's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, sequel to 2010's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, received a new gameplay trailer during Konami's Pre-E3 press conference. The trailer, clocking in at a hefty six minutes and twenty seconds, features a very subdued piano number at first, and then transitions into a bombastic orchestral song for the remainder of its time. Also worth noting is that the trailer confirms that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be the last title in the Lords of Shadow series, saying, "The epic conclusion to the Lords of Shadow saga."

“NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky,
And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk, the law runneth forward and back;
For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”

Bungie, the studio behind development for the Halo franchise up through Halo Reach, is currently developing their first ever game, entitled Destiny, since their departure from Microsoft to become third party. Recently a new trailer dubbed "The Law of the Jungle" was uploaded to Youtube on the "destinygame" channel. The trailer is comprised of live-action and pre-rendered CG scenes, but it seems this particular trailer is more about the thematic elements of the game rather than the game play, so that's an OK choice.

Destiny is confirmed to be releasing on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. A Wii U and PC release may still be a slight possibility, but according to Bungie's Twitter account, "Destiny will absolutely be shipping on four platforms: [the above four]."

As promised, Warner Bros. dropped a massive amount of new Batman: Arkham Origins information on us today, including new gameplay and story details, a brand new trailer, and information about a new playable character, available via preorder DLC.

The trailer tells us a lot about the story and style of the prequel, so we'll have a full rundown of the trailer's details and more after the jump.

Follow at your own risk; spoilers ahead.

In today's Nintendo Direct, we got a nice new look at New Super Luigi U, the new DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U, celebrating Luigi's 30th anniversary. It's shaping up to be a great DLC. In fact, it might be a whole new game altogether. That's right, New Super Luigi U is going to get a physical stand-alone release in stores on August 25th for $29.99. The DLC version will cost $19.99 respectfully. Luigi is my favorite Mario character, so I'll be sure to get this when it comes out.

Mario is going to be replaced by Nabbit, the thieving rabbit who stole power-ups from Toad houses. Nabbit will be unable to use power-ups and cannot be damaged by enemy attacks. To me this seems like some form of the Super Guide feature when things become too hard. And from what is known, the game will be much harder than New Super Mario Bros. U

In today's Nintendo Direct, we got another look at Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, which is set to release on 3DS on May 24th.

Nintendo has now released a new trailer for the game; in the trailer, the new items and levels for the game are shown, demonstrating how this is a new release that is worth an additional purchase. The game will feature life-saving green balloons and crash guards, portable DK barrels, and a new world of levels, each detailing a world from the Wii release.

Warner Bros. released a new teaser trailer today for the latest installment in the Batman series of games, Batman: Arkham Origins, which is set to release on all major platforms on October 25th.

In the trailer, the Dark Knight encounters the villain Deathstroke, and the duo exchange blows. And...that's really it. The end of the video does promise a longer trailer on Monday, May 20, however, for those of you who aren't satisfied with this small glimpse.

Are you excited for Arkham Origins? I am; I played Arkham City on the Wii U when it came out. It was my first experience with the series, and I'm looking forward to more.

Warner Bros. Interactive has recently announced Scribblenauts Unmasked, a new Scribblenauts adventure that will release on Wii U, 3DS, and PC this fall.

Players will control Maxwell as he explores Metropolis, Gotham City, Atlantis, and other locales from the DC Universe and encounters famous DC heroes and villains. A new feature in the game, Hero Feats, utilizes dynamically-generated levels that will challenge players to explore new solutions. Players of the Wii U and PC versions of the game will have access to the Super Hero Creator; this tool allows players to create their own heroes and villains by changing appearance, behaviors, and powers. These creations can then be shared with the Unmasked community.

What do you think about the latest Scribblenauts adventure?
