The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is almost upon us, and Nintendo decided to shed some more light on the trials and tribulations of the final product. Today, Nintendo held an interesting panel about Breath of the Wild's development at the annual Game Developers Conference and discussed just that. Some of the devs behind Breath of the Wild revealed that a 2D/3D prototype was created in order to test out some of the game mechanics from Breath of the Wild. The 3D prototype resembled the original The Legend of Zelda and ran Breath of the Wild's physics and "chemistry" engine in the background.

What do you think of the prototype in the video? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
