A new homebrew game called Germ Squashers is coming to the NES. Proceeds from sales of the one to two player action arcade game are going to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Players must clear all the germs and viruses off the screen in the time limit in order to progress to the next stage. When you defeat a flashing germ, you will get a special power up such as invincibility and a time freeze. The ultimate aim of the game is to get the pixelated flu shot power up.
The listing of the game states that it is also compatible with aftermarket consoles like the Retron5. The cart only is $40 and the cart and box is $60. There is no official release date yet, but you can subscribe for an email alert for when it becomes available.
