After a seven-year hiatus (counting mobile games), gaming's favorite bandicoot returned in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to resounding success this past June. The game has been praised by fans and critics alike, and it has some very impressive sales numbers to boot. During their quarterly financial conference call last week, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg hinted that a lot more remastered content like N. Sane will be coming soon.
According to Hirshberg, the sales of the game far exceeded the company's expectations, surpassing predicted sales numbers by "a pretty wide margin." He also pointed out that, despite the game being released with only two days in the month left, Crash was the best selling console game for June and was the most downloaded game on PSN in July.
Because of the game's excellent sales numbers, Hirshberg says that Activision will seriously be considering other retro games that can be given the same treatment. Although no specific titles were mentioned, Activision has a wealth of IPs in its long history that could be remade, such as another classic platformer, Spyro the Dragon.
