Nearly a year ago, Nintendo teased that they were working on new video game hardware code named NX. Official details have been few and far between since then, but Nintendo has hinted that it could incorporate multiple devices, and rumblings in the industry say it will be available as both a handheld device and as a home console.
While this dual-device approach isn't confirmed, a lot of analysts believe it's the real deal. In fact, the latest report from analyst David Gibson of Macquarie Capital Securities actually predicts that the handheld version of Nintendo NX will launch in 2016 (with a price tag between $200 and $300) and the home console version will launch in 2017. This is also the same report that suggested NX could be compatible with PC and PlayStation 4, but that is speculation based off of recent patents.
