PlayStation 4 is off to a hot start with over 18.5 million units sold at the end of last year, and a study by Strategy Analytics suggests that trend will continue. While Xbox One's sales are solid as well, PlayStation 4 has a clear lead, and this latest projection suggests that by the end of 2018 PlayStation 4 will have sold 80 million units versus 57 million for Xbox One. That comes out to a lifetime average of about 16 million units sold per year for PlayStation 4 and just under 10 million per year for Xbox One. Wii U sales, meanwhile, are expected to "trail a long way behind" the other consoles.
