The King of Kong controversy continues. Following a lengthy investigation by three parties, it was determined that Billy Mitchell's Donkey Kong arcade scores were not achieved within the rules set by Twin Galaxies. As such, Mitchell was stripped of all his scores by both Twin Galaxies and Guinness World Records. Mitchell made an appearance at The Midwest Gaming Classic this weekend, and he issued a response to the controversy in video form.
As expected, Mitchell continues to deny any wrong-doing. The former Donkey Kong and Pac-Man champ claims he is conducting his own "true professional due diligence" into the allegations, as opposed to the "shock-jock" way Twin Galaxies handled them. Mitchell holds that his actions have always been professional and within the rules, and he claims he will prove this in a transparent fashion.
