It's been awhile since we received a progress update on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but that changed recently. Director Koji Igarashi decided to kick the new year off with a Kickstarter backer update that includes a look at a new location in the game: a village set under a blood red sky. Players will pass through this village on their way to the castle where the bulk of the game takes place, but they'll have to battle off demons along the way.

Bloodstained was recently delayed from its planned 2017 launch to 2018, as the development team needed time to "absolutely guarantee the game is done right the first time." Bloodstained is planned to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Vita. A Wii U release was initially announced, but Igarashi is not sure if that will still happen.
