Love him or hate him, the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly has left a big impact on the Dragon Ball community since his debut 25 years ago. Although a major player in several movies (and many games), Broly was never considered canon, as series creator Akira Toriyama had little involvement in those projects. That all changes later this year.
The first official Dragon Ball Super movie is set to launch in December, and we were previously told that it would feature a powerful Saiyan as a villain. The internet was set ablaze earlier today when a poster from the movie allegedly leaked, revealing that Saiyan as none other than Broly. Could it possibly true, or is it just a hoax? Toriyama himself has released a public statement to clear up the issue, and holy crap, it's real!
The next Dragon Ball movie is titled Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Toriyama is bringing back the controversial character, but not strictly as he was. Although Toriyama is keeping "Broly's classic image" in mind, he's updating him and adding a "new side to his character," resulting in "a more fascinating Broly." In other words, Broly's story and personality are getting a bit of a reboot treatment in order to fit him into the Dragon Ball Super universe.
Are you happy with this development, or should Broly be left in the past? What changes do you hope or expect to see to his character? Sound off in the comments below!

Hey, everyone! I just want to take a moment to explain what's happening here. Gamnesia is a website dedicated to news about video games and the culture that surrounds them, and that's not changing. Gamnesia will always be about the games. However, when we post articles or memes (on social media) about anime-related games, we've always gotten an extremely positive reaction from our viewers. There are a few of us here at Gamnesia who are big fans of anime, so from time to time we'll be trying out articles like this. If you guys like what you see, we'll keep 'em coming!
