A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, developer Free Radical had been in the middle of developing the next chapter in the Star Wars: Battlefront saga, but the game was mysteriously cancelled in 2008. However, thanks to YouTube user FuZaH, you can now watch six minutes of remarkably advanced gameplay and graphics (at the time) from the game.

Exactly why Battlefront III was cancelled is still murky, although key players have included technical malfunctions, organizational growing pains, and staffing issues in the list of reasons. In any case, it's always intriguing to see what could have been.

In the past, playable builds of the game have been leaked for the Xbox 360, and fans have attempted to recreate the unreleased game, only to be shut down and forced to release their work under an original IP. Previous footage leaks also include the training missions from the cancelled game, which comes from the same YouTube channel.
