A few days ago, we posted that some datamines in Pokémon GO seemed to confirm the release of third generation creatures during this year's Halloween event. Today, Niantic confirmed this with a trailer for the upcoming event that shows off some ghost Pokémon from Generation III as well as other spooky goodies.

The Ghost-Type Pokémon Sableye, Shuppet, Banette, Dusclops, and Duskull will all appear during the Halloween event. If you're worried about other Generation III Pokémon, Niantic confirmed they will appear in the game by December. Players can also find a special Pikachu that wears a witch's hat, and their avatars will be able to put on a special Mimikyu Disguise Hat.

On top of these special items and encounters, candy rewards will be doubled and your buddy Pokémon will find candies twice as fast as they usually do. The in-game shop will also feature items like Super Incubators and Raid Passes during the event.

The Halloween event will take place from October 20th until November 2nd. You can watch the reveal trailer above!
