Blizzard Entertainment officially confirmed on Friday that their North American World Of Warcraft servers suffered a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. This happened right after the release of their new Warlord of Draenor expansion.

The attack caused latency for many players, forcing them to wait for long periods of time in order to join games online. However, server maintenance commenced on Friday to solve the problem, lasting roughly four hours.

The attack is believed to have originated in China and has also caused minor issues for European servers as well. No one has been identified as the attacker so far.
