This Valentine's day, you may be able to cut the cost of a candlelight dinner and instead battle others to the death in a couples' PvP match in Destiny! For one week this February, a special event called "Crimson Days" will be taking place in honor of Valentine's Day. Although more details are going to be released next week, we know that the update features romantic decorations for The Tower hub world, a special couples' Crucible match called "Crimson Doubles," and even some "sweet" loot, which I would bet on being red or Valentine's Day-themed. The update is scheduled to release on February 9th.
The "Crimson Doubles" game-mode is likely to be similar to the couples' playlist from last year, but Bungie promises a special twist on the game mechanics for this year's celebrations. The whole event is planned to be on the same scale as this October's "Festival of the Lost," which featured tons of unique quests, items, and candy.
And of course, Bungie's community manager DeeJ had a few select words announcing the occasion:
"This February, in the world of the real, loving couples will descend upon crowded restaurants to exchange gifts and glance deeply into each other’s fluttering eyes. In the world of Destiny, the Guardians will be celebrating the rare variety of companionship that can only be found in the heat of battle. You’re invited to the Tower to partake in the real party, a ritual known by the brave as Crimson Days." — DeeJ
