A while back there were rumblings and rumors of Diablo III potentially coming to Nintendo Switch, but nothing substantial emerged from the rumor mill and Blizzard remained silent. That silence will likely soon be ending. According to a quickly deleted article on Forbes, Diablo III is headed to Nintendo's hybrid console later this year. It looks like someone jumped the gun a little early on an official announcement.
According to the deleted Forbes article, this latest release of the game is titled Diablo III: Eternal Collection, and it features exclusive content and game modes in addition to all previously released expansions. Extra content includes the Legend of Ganondorf cosmetic armor set, Triforce portrait frame, a "Chicken pet" (presumably a Cucco), and Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wigs. The Switch version of the game will also feature numerous ways to play. This includes:
- Up to four players together on a single Switch
- Up to four players on four separate Switch consoles playing via local wifi
- Online team-ups on Nintendo Switch Online
When Nintendo Switch Online goes live in September, Diablo III will also be one of the games that makes use of the new cloud saves feature. You can check out a full-sized picture of Barbarian Ganondorf below.
