Nintendo has been more aggressive with its marketing in recent years, shelling out for commercials like their Nintendo Switch ad in the 2017 Super Bowl. Today they took that to the next level with the announcement of a partnership with Disney. The two popular entertainment companies will be collaborating on a new TV show this summer, and it's all about Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch Family Showdown will feature four families competing against each other in a variety of Nintendo Switch games. The competitive festivities will include events such as "searching for collectibles in Super Mario Odyssey, competing in head-to-head matchups in Mario Tennis Aces and participating in dance-offs in Just Dance 2018."
If you're interested in participating in the show yourself, Nintendo and Disney are now accepting applications from interested families. Families can apply for the contest by submitting an original video, up to one minute in length, explaining why they are the ultimate Nintendo fans. Selected families will win a trip to Los Angeles to meet their favorite Disney Channel stars and compete in the Nintendo Switch Family Showdown for a chance to win even more prizes.
The show will air on both the Disney Channel and Disney XD when it debuts this summer, and it will also be available to stream via the DisneyNOW app.
