PlayStation 4 has been selling at a record-breaking pace, and it recently eclipsed 30 million sales in less than two years. Xbox One sales haven't been quite as impressive (and Microsoft hasn't released concrete figures in quite some time), but it's still outselling its predecessor. These impressive sales figures are great for third-party developers, as the transition from one generation to another can sometimes make developing for new platforms a risk.
Speaking at the Credit Suisse Technology Media and Telecom Broker Conference, EA COO Peter Moore discussed these strong sales. According to Moore, EA is predicting that the combined install base of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be around 52-53 million by the end of the year, but he added that the actual number could be even higher.
