Many people recognize Scott Cawthon as the creator behind the popular Five Nights at Freddy’s games. The three games have each been very successful for Cawthon, and some people may be wondering what he has planned to do with the money he’s made from them.

Last Saturday, a live stream focusing on Five Nights at Freddy’s was held by Twitch streamer Dawko to raise money through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital's partnership with Twitch. Cawthon visited the stream and donated a total of $249,999 towards the cause. This pushed the total money raised to $256,499. The original objective for the stream was to reach $15,000, which means the event reached 1,710% of the planned goal.

It’s always heartwarming to see successful independent developers donate their game profits to great causes like this one. Regardless of your opinions on Five Nights at Freddy’s, this man has shown a great deal of passion for helping others.
