Nintendo recently announced that Super Smash Bros. is coming to Nintendo Switch, and Splatoon's Inklings were revealed as playable fighters. More newcomers are sure to be announced in the coming months, and if Smash on Switch is anything like its predecessor, there could be some surprise third-party characters. If popular anime studio Funimation gets their way, one of those characters will be none other than Dragon Ball's Son Goku.
Goku has been one of the most frequently requested Smash characters for years, and fans have even modded him into Brawl and other games, but the Saiyan warrior has never made it into an official Smash release. Funimation has decided to back Goku for Smash, tweeting the request to Nintendo in response to the recent Nintendo Direct.
I'm not holding my breath for a Nintendo response, but it never hurts to ask. In the meantime, I'd settle for Dragon Ball FighterZ on Nintendo Switch. That's a cause even Prince Vegeta can support.
