After months of teasing and weightless expressions of intent, Nintendo has finally announced that Game Boy Advance games will be available on the Wii U Virtual this spring! We first heard that GBA games would be available on the Wii U Virtual Console long ago, but a time frame is finally set in stone.

Metroid: Fusion, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 2 will be among the first games released for the Wii U's GBA Virtual Console service. We don't know yet of any other titles, but we can safely assume that most of the big-name titles from the GBA's first-party lineup will find their way there eventually.

Now they just need to give us GBA games on the 3DS Virtual Console and we'll be all set.
