Fans have been obsessed with Geno ever since the wooden puppet stole their hearts in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. More so than any other Mario RPG partner who has only appeared as playable in a single game, he continues to be heralded by fans as the mascot of turn-based Super Mario. Sometimes it is hard to understand the hype for the guy, but it is easier to understand why people would be upset that his brief appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga has been cut in the recent Nintendo 3DS remake.

In the original Superstar Saga, Geno was the emcee for The Star 'Stache Smash minigame in the Little Fungitown arcade. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions however, Geno has apparently been removed, with generic textboxes used to explain the rules of the game instead. This remake comes out this Friday, October 6th.

Are you disappointed the developers removed the Geno cameo from the game? Do you have hopes that Geno could return in another game in some form in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
