Hideo Kojima and his team have been hard at work on Death Stranding since his departure from Konami. They've kept fans tantalized with cryptic trailers, but we still know relatively little about the game. We may have to wait a little longer for more story and gameplay details (E3 is just around the corner), but Kojima has decided to give fans a sneak peak at the process of creating the game's cut scenes.
Of course, that means guest appearances by stars Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen! Reedus provides his voice, likeness, and motion-captured acting performance to Death Stranding's protagonist, while Mikkelsen does the same to bring the game's antagonist to life. Along with Kojima and other members of the team, they've been shooting scenes at the performance capture studio in SCEA's San Diego campus. Film and TV Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (a friend of Kojima's) was also present on the set, and he describes the scenes they shot as the kind "that are going to melt your eyeballs."
