Today's Nintendo Direct was focused primarily on information about Splatoon 2 and ARMS, so we learned tons of stuff about both games. First off, we finally have an official release date for ARMS: June 16th. We also learned about new kinds of weapons, game modes, stages, and more, giving us our first in-depth look at ARMS since it was originally revealed in January.
First off, we learned about the different kinds of weapons in the game. The main weapons, the titular "Arms," will include regular gloves, multi-shot gloves, and curve arms, as well as heavy-type gloves, whip-type gloves, and a few more. These will come in different elements, including fire, electrical, wind, and ice, which will determine the types of attacks they'll be able to do. According to the Direct, deciding upon these weapons and element types will require deep strategy.
We also learned about a new character, MinMin, also known as the "Ramen Bomber." She can deflect punches with her kicks when she dodges, and she has the unique ability of turning her left arm into a dragon for a special attack. A new stage, "The Ramen Bowl," was also revealed; as the name implies, it looks like a giant bowl, like those used for ramen.
ARMS is also getting 2-on-2 battles, which will give you more exciting multiplayer play.
What do you guys think? Will you be picking up a copy of ARMS on June 16th? Let us know in the comments below!
