Nintendo's E3 Direct yesterday started off with the reveal of a brand new mech game for the Switch: Daemon X Machina. At the time we only got a brief look at the game, but today Nintendo Treehouse treated us to a much longer look. Sitting down with one of the game's developers, they took us through half an hour of the new game, showing off character customization, mech combat, and destructible environments.
In the game, you'll be playing as a mercenary fighting against an AI that has taken over weapons, tanks, and mechs all over the world. Humanity has been driven underground as a result, but that just means that you can battle foes even in dense cityscapes without worrying about civilian casualties. As you do so, you'll be able to pick up parts of the environments, from cars to enemy weapons to even the support pillars of buildings (demolishing them in the process) to attack your foes.
