Sonic Mania's animated mini-series just wrapped up, and now SEGA is moving on to a much bigger video project. The live-action/CGI Sonic the Hedgehog officially began filming earlier this month, and it's targeting a release date of November 15th, 2019. It'll be a long wait until we see the Blue Blur on the big screen, but a few interesting set images have surfaced in the meantime.

Back in May, we learned that James Marsden (best known for his roles as Teddy in Westworld and Scott Summers / Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy) has been cast in the film, and based on recent images, it appears he'll be playing a sheriff named Tom Wachowski. As another image shows, it looks like the town he'll be protecting is none other than Green Hills. We've also heard that Jim Carrey is playing Robotnik, but so far he has not been spotted on set.
