It's been thirteen long years since Kingdom Hearts II released, and there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel for the long-suffering fans eagerly anticipating the third game. Developer Square Enix recently promised that a release date announcement is coming soon. With E3 just around the corner, that could be the perfect time for the big reveal.

While that's not yet confirmed, Square Enix did just reveal that E3 will mark another major milestone for the game's development. The company announced via Twitter that Kingdom Hearts III will officially be playable in public (for the first time) at their booth on the E3 2018 show floor.
