It's been nearly 13 years since Kingdom Hearts II made its debut. The wait for the third major chapter has been long and excruciating, but there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Square Enix recently invited select members of the press to go hands-on with the game and meet some of the developers behind it. No release date was announced at the press event, but the reveal is on its way, and soon!
Tetsuya Nomura, a longtime Square Enix developer and the director of Kingdom Hearts III, indicated that he's hoping to reveal the release date early next month. Square Enix already has a date in mind that they're "pretty firm on," but they're not quite yet ready to make that public knowledge, as the team is still making some final adjustments.
Square Enix will be holding an E3 press conference on June 11th, the day before the show floor opens. They could drop the release date on their audience as part of this presentation, or perhaps in the days leading up to E3. Then again, it's Square Enix. If Final Fantasy XV was delayed just months after a special release date reveal presentation was held, anything is possible. Hopefully it's well worth the wait!
