After months of rumors, speculation, and controversy, it has finally been officially confirmed that Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has left Konami to create his own studio. Konami has stated in the past that they intend to continue developing Metal Gear games without Kojima's direction. In fact, they announced last month that they are planning a large-scale investment into the IP.
It looks like things are heating up, as Konami has begun the hiring process. The career page for Konami's Japanese website states that they are currently looking to hire a "wide range of highly-skilled development professionals" to help create "New Metal Gear." No other details are available at this time, but we'll be keeping a lookout for news as it surfaces.
