After six years, Nintendo and Namco Bandi have announced the newest installment in the Mario Kart Arcade GP franchise. According to NeoGAF, the game will be on display February 15th and 16th at the Japan Amusement Expo.
The game is set to feature a single player Grand Prix mode, a two player co-operative mode, a single player "Clone Battle" mode, and a four player competitive mode. It is noteworthy that the game will also include gliders, not unlike the ones found in Mario Kart 7.
With the recent Nintendo Direct confirmation of a Mario Kart U, could this announcement be somehow related? While unlikely, it isn't difficult to imagine that there could be some parallels between the two. We'll know for sure at this year's E3.
