Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter recently gave predictions for this generation's console sales, as well as predicting that the console market will shrink by half in the next generation. At the time, he estimated over 100 million sales for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and around 20 million for Wii U. Speaking at the Cloud Gaming Summit in San Francisco, Pachter clarified the sales estimate for Nintendo's platform, stating that 20 million is a "best-case scenario" and that a more likely total is 12 million. Wii U sales are currently sitting at just over 10 million, so Pachter's estimate puts the console near its end.
