In celebration of BlizzCon, the Overwatch team released a brand new short centering around everyone's favorite anachronistic cyborg cowboy, Jesse McCree. Set in the Old West-themed map Route 66, the new short introduces not just one, but two heroes coming to Overwatch in the near future.

The first new character revealed is Ashe, a white-haired gunslinger and the leader of McCree's old gang, Deadlock. In the cinematic, Ashe and her gang fought with McCree over a mysterious container found in the wreckage of a newly-exploded train. While the Deadlock Gang was bested, Ashe got to show off her abilities in both the cinematic and the gameplay trailer accompanying the video. In addition to her main firearm, Ashe also has access to a stick of dynamite and a small shotgun that can cause massive pushback to both herself and her enemies. Her ultimate calls in Bob, her hulking right-hand man, who will rough up the enemy team and essentially add a seventh person to your team for a brief moment.

The second character revealed was not given a gameplay trailer, nor did she show off any combat abilities in the cinematic. Echo, a robotic member of Overwatch that had been "turned-off" for quite some time, was locked inside the mysterious container McCree and Ashe were fighting over. While Echo might not be ready to be officially revealed in-game, she has been confirmed to be Overwatch's thirtieth hero. An earlier version of her design was revealed to the public a long time ago, meaning that Echo has been in the works in some form since before Overwatch's release.

It's unknown when these heroes will be released, but Ashe shouldn't be too far off from going live. Expect to see her soon.
