Given Hollywood's track record when it comes to video game movies, there hasn't been much optimism surrounding the upcoming Sonic film, and concerns from fans only multiplied when the first official poster for the movie featured a more humanoid (and disturbing) look for the famous hedgehog. Now a second movie poster has allegedly surfaced at a movie theater, and it's probably not going to do anything to help calm the fears of fans.
The new poster, shared on Twitter by MocciMu, was reportedly seen and photographed at the Century Walnut Creek theater in Walnut Creek, California. AV Club has reached out to the theater for confirmation of its legitimacy, but they haven't yet heard back. The poster is from Sonic's point of view as he sits perched on the Golden Gate Bridge with his long, furry legs stretched out in front of him.
To say the internet is unimpressed with these early looks at the Sonic movie would be a massive understatement. It's still about a year until it debuts in theaters, but I'm not sure if there's enough time in the world to save this project from being critically panned.
