A new Super Smash Bros. game is headed to Nintendo Switch, and it will feature prominently at this year's E3. If you can't make it out to the big event in LA, there's still a chance you can go hands-on with Smash early. Nintendo has just announced a series of public Smash events and tourneys starting just after E3 and heading into July.

So far Nintendo has only confirmed playable Smash events for Japan, but it's pretty common for the Japan announcements to come first followed closely behind by news of similar events in the West. Four Smash events have been unveiled in total so far, including:

  • Rage 2018 Summer on June 17 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba
  • Jisedai World Hobby Fair 2018 Summer from June 23 to 24 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba
  • Jump Victory Carnival 2018 Tokyo on July 16 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba
  • Jump Victory Carnival 2018 Osaka on July 22 at Intex Osaka

We'll be on the lookout for info on Smash events outside of Japan as soon as they're announced. Fans can also look forward to watching a Super Smash Bros. Invitational at E3.
