Oh, Tingle. The green wannabe fairy has maintained a love-hate relationship with fans ever since his introduction in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Tingle has made an appearance in several mainline games since then, and he's even starred in adventures like Tingle's Balloon Fight and a pair of RPGs that never got released in America. However, there is one Tingle story that remains a secret to this day.
Longtime Nintendo Producer Kensuke Tanabe recently sat down with Kotaku for a chat about some of Nintendo's lesser known games like Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers. During the course of the interview, Tanabe brought up Tingle's DS adventures and revealed that there was another Tingle game in development around 2010.
“Looking back eight years ago, we were developing a horror game with Vanpool that starred Tingle as the main character. but that project was canceled due to a variety of reasons.” — Kensuke Tanabe
Unfortunately, Tanabe did not elaborate any further on the canceled game, but you can color me intrigued. Is Tingle fleeing from the horror or causing it? We need answers, Nintendo!
