Ever since Fire Emblem Awakening, new games in the Fire Emblem series have enjoyed some healthy and expansive DLC packs, and it looks like that trend will be continuing with the next title. Even though it's a remake of one of the oldest experiences in the franchise, during today's Nintendo Direct, the Big N confirmed that Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be getting DLC packs in the weeks and months following the game's release.
We didn't get any specifics about these various packs, but the general details are still rather enticing. Some of the new content will be free, while others will be paid, but Nintendo promises that either way, you can "expect new maps and dungeons that will test your strategic merit." Of extra interest to me, though, is the tease that some new backstory details will be included, further fleshing out the characters of the game.
While no release dates were mentioned, or even the amount of packs we can expect (though, if Awakening and Fates are anything to go by, it should be a fairly large number), but a Season Pass was also confirmed. Hopefully they'll provide more details on all this as we continue towards the game's release in May.
Do you have any expectations or desires for the DLC this time around? How have you enjoyed the extra content provided for past Fire Emblem titles? Let us know in the comments!
