After months of rumors and speculation, Nintendo officially unveiled Nintendo Switch as their next home console. Although the reveal trailer did a good job at conveying the device's hybrid nature (functioning as both a home console and a handheld), it didn't give us any details about pricing, storage, launch lineup, or many other important factors, and Nintendo doesn't plan to share anymore specifics this year. Thankfully, we now know when we can expect the next round of Nintendo Switch news.

Nintendo announced today via various social media platforms that they'll be holding a Nintendo Switch Presentation in Tokyo on January 12th, 2017. The exact starting time of the event will be announced sometime in the coming weeks. This will be an event for invited media, financial analysts, and trade partners in Tokyo, and it will be livestreamed for everyone to watch. The presentation is confirmed to include the reveal of the console's price, release date, and launch lineup.

Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima also announced that Nintendo Switch sampling events for invited media, partners, and consumers will take place in the U.S. and Europe after the presentation at later dates. There will be opportunities for the public to participate in other hands-on events around the same time, details of which will be announced later.
