The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild stole the show at E3 this year, and to build off the hype Nintendo also took that opportunity to reveal a trio of new Amiibo figures based off the game. An Archer Link, a Horseback Link, and a Guardian Amiibo are all on their way at some time next year, and we may have just gotten a hint as to when exactly we can expect them. Earlier today, users on Reddit discovered a listing on Nintendo of France's site that penned in these figures for a March 4, 2017 release.
While the main page of the site still shows them as releasing in a noncommittal "2017" window, going to an Amiibo figure's page and checking the "Browse more amiibo" section at the bottom shows these three figures getting a launch date of 04/03/2017 (the European format for March 4th). You might have to refresh a few times to see it for yourself, or you can simply check the site's HTML code for it.
Many have noted that this date is a Saturday, which is not usually when Nintendo launches new products—but the company has launched other Amiibo on irregular days like this, so it's still in the realm of possibility. On the other hand, March 4th is also the date that Twilight Princess HD and the Wolf Link Amiibo released this year, so it could be that someone just copied over the code without realizing the date was there. Either way, for now, it's probably best to take this with a grain of salt. Whether or not this might imply a release date for Breath of the Wild or Nintendo's NX is also up in the air until an official statement is made, so let's try not to get our hopes up too much.
Do you think this date sounds like a plausible one for these Amiibo? Are you planning to pick any of them up? Will you be throwing out all my warnings and fully expecting Zelda and NX to launch on or by this early March date? Let us know in the comments!
