Nintendo Switch has been a phenomenally successful console through a year and a half on the market, but it's not without its flaws. One of the biggest has been its extremely limited selection of streaming apps. Nintendo added a Hulu app last year, but fans have been griping for months about the lack of services like YouTube and Netflix. Now, Nintendo is finally taking another step in the right direction.
Earlier this week, we reported that Nintendo's website appeared to leak the fact that a YouTube app was in the works, and that turned out to be true. Nintendo just launched the app today on Switch eShop as a free download. Hopefully, this opens the door to more streaming apps in the future. We've heard rumblings in the past of Netflix and Funimation apps, and Nintendo has confirmed that there are ongoing conversations regarding other apps.
