Nintendo gave us the lowdown on their upcoming Switch console for the first time last night, and of particular note are its unusual controllers. The controllers, named "Joy-Con," are similar to their Wiimote ancestors but with multiple differences and improvements that are sure to excite gamers everywhere.
As we know, the controllers will be capable of being used separately (one in each hand) or attached to the console's screen to form a Wii U-esque ensemble. Each controller has a wrist strap and shoulder button, and a "social share" button will be capable of sending screenshots and video to your friends over social media. The right controller also contains an IR camera that can distinguish hand gestures and objects' distance from the controller.
Additionally, their HD rumble feature can make the controller feel like, for example, a glass of water filled with ice cubes; players will apparently be able to feel the ice cubes clinking in the "glass" and the weight of water. The controllers come in a variety of colors, such as gray, Neon Blue, and Neon Red.
What do you think of the controller setup? What colors would you like to get them in? Let us know below!
