Coinciding with the week of E3, Sony has announced a "Days of Play" promotion for North America. From June 9th through June 17th, PlayStation 4 consoles, gadgets, and games will see significant discounts across the U.S. and Canada.
The Vice President of brand marketing at PlayStation went on to explain:
"This campaign is a thank you from us to the passionate PlayStation Community for your unwavering support – it's all of you that makes PlayStation the Best Place to Play." — John Koller
In addition to the deals, Sony will also be releasing exclusive shiny consoles. The new, slim Gold PlayStation 4 will retail at $249.99 USD and comes with 1TB of HDD storage and matching DualShock 4 wireless controller. You can view the official photo gallery here, but be quick! They are only in stores for a limited run.
This is not the first time the U.S. has seen golden PlayStations, as Sony previously partnered with fast food chain Taco Bell for a black-and-gold model giveaway. The PlayStation 4 consoles are currently only available in Jet Black and Glacier White, but following the Gold model, the UK official website is reporting that a Silver model will also be coming soon.
The official announcement so far tells us to wait for further details on June 9th, but it reveals that the "PlayStation Store will be offering awesome deals for digital blockbuster games and PlayStation Plus memberships". We know that Nioh, Horizon Zero Dawn, and MLB: The Show, usually priced around $60, are set to retail at $39.99 USD. Finally, all colors of DualShock 4 wireless controller, usually priced $50-65, will retail at $39.99 USD.
