Much of the Pokémon community is buzzing with excitement over the recent reveal of Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee. However, the simplified, GO-like gameplay isn't for everyone. Thankfully for that crowd, Game Freak has already promised another title for 2019. In a recent interview, company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara shared more info on next year's game, confirming that it will be geared towards longtime fans of the series.
Speaking with popular Japanese publication Famitsu, Ishihara dropped several tidibits of information about the upcoming 2019 title. First, he established that it will be "a completely different game" than the Let's Go titles releasing this holiday season. This, he explained, is because Let's Go is an "entry game" for new fans, but next year's game is something they "want longtime fans of the Pokémon series to look forward to."
While it will be more traditional than Let's Go, it sounds like the 2019 game will also be bringing lots of new ideas to the table. According to Ishihara, it will "give a good understanding of what an evolved Pokémon game looks like after it has continued to succeed the traditions of Game Freak." He went on to describe it as a brand new product full of new gameplay elements and new Pokémon to encounter.
So if you're not hyped about Let's Go, don't fret! Just trust Ishihara when he says "We want to make Pokémon fans say 'this is what I've been waiting for.'"
