Niantic's mobile hit Pokémon GO has been a phenomenal success story since its debut over two years ago, and the game keeps getting better over time with the addition of new features and creatures. However, one absolutely crucial element of the Pokémon experience is still shockingly absent. Where are the PVP trainer battles?
Ever since launch, the Pokémon GO faithful have been wondering when they'll get the chance to battle against their friends, and that time is finally getting close. Months ago, Niantic teased that PVP battles would arrive before the end of the year, but they've been silent on the subject ever since. That silence ended today when the official Pokémon GO Twitter account tweeted out confirmation that Trainer Battles are arriving "soon."
So what does soon mean? We don't have an exact date yet, but typically there's a short turnaround time from Niantic dropping a teaser like this to the feature being implemented. Are you ready to fight?
