Nintendo shipped out 10 million copies of Pokémon Sun and Moon at launch, setting a new 3DS record. The twin games sold just under 2 million in Japan right away, and it looks like sales in other regions are strong as well. During a recent earnings briefing, GameStop CEO Paul Raines announced that the Alolan adventures are the "best-performing games for GameStop all year" (it's unclear what metric is being used to determine this), and that they pulled in more preorders than any game in the past five years. Not a bad start at all!
