We're only a few weeks away from the launch of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, so new details for the titles will start to pop up more frequently. Most recently, producer Shigeru Ohmori and director Kazumasa Iwao shared a ton of details regarding the games' story, saying "the addition of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon should about double the current story volume for the Sun & Moon generation."

The new games are confirmed to not be sequels, but rather an expansion of the original story. It's said to have "a little divergence" from the previous titles. The new plot will focus primarily on the Ultra Expedition Team, who arrived in Alola through an Ultra Wormhole.

Speaking of Ultra Wormholes, the post-game of Ultra Sun and Moon will have players leaping between other worlds, including at least one that has now been revealed to allow players to catch legendary Pokémon, such as Mewtwo. Game Freak didn't give away any more details about it, but they did compare it to the additions that Pokémon Platinum brought to the Diamond and Pearl universe.
