About a month ago, Pokémon GO got an update, and data miners discovered that it contained references to every Pokémon from Generation II. Shortly afterwards, Venture Beat reported that the mobile game would receive a major update in December, officially adding 100 more Pokémon into the game. Developer Niantic hasn't commented on any of this, but more evidence of a big update appears to have surfaced in the form of a leaked partnership between Niantic and Starbucks.
Multiple Starbucks employees are posting images of memos that detail a Pokémon GO promotion. According to the memos (which you can view in the gallery below), Pokémon GO is set to receive a new update on Thursday, December 8th, and a partnership with Starbucks will kick off on the same day. The majority of Starbucks locations in the United States will become Gyms or PokéStops, and Starbucks will be offering a drink called the Pokémon GO Frappuccino for a limited time.
The Starbucks memo specifically states that "The world of Pokémon GO is about to expand with new Pokémon," corroborating Venture Beat's report of Gen II joining in on the fun in December. Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Niantic at this time, but this doesn't appear to be a hoax.
