Nintendo Treehouse is showing off the Big N's upcoming games and content for this week's Treehouse Live @ E3, and they just revealed some new info that is sure to be exciting for fans of the Xenoblade games. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has some new DLC coming up soon, including a special "Challenge Battle Mode," but it turns out this mode will offer more than just tough fights. It also brings back two classic characters from the original Xenoblade Chronicles: Shulk and Fiora!

Shulk and Fiora will appear in this mode as Blades, which you can equip to your Drivers in order to fight with Shulk's Monado or Fiora's daggers. Shulk is especially a cool Blade to have in battle, with his Special attacks being Monado Arts from the original Xenoblade. Even his ability to see the future returns, allowing you to predict and dodge some devastating attacks.

Additionally, other parts of this DLC will let you see battles from the storyline from a different perspective. The Treehouse didn't get to show us much of it, but they did highlight a part where you'll play as Jin and fight in a battle that occurred within the story of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but happened off-screen.

Finally, they announced the release date for this new DLC: this week! It should drop on Thursday at 10:00 PM PT, or early Friday in most other parts of the world.

We'll add in the video as soon as it's uploaded (Edit: it's in now!). Are you excited to see Shulk and Fiora return? Let us know in the comments!
