Recent postings in the PlayStation careers website are leading us to believe that Sony's Bend Studio is going to be developing a new AAA title for the PlayStation Vita.

The studio, known for the Syphon Filter series and Uncharted: Golden Abyss has been primarily handheld in the past decade, being involved in a few PlayStation Vita projects since the console's release. Since the announcement that Sony wasn't focusing anymore on AAA Vita titles, the console's future started to look bleak, but maybe this will help keep it afloat a while longer.

The job descriptions had the following information posted:

"Bend Studio the creators of Sony’s flagship Vita title Uncharted Golden Abyss is currently looking for the entertainment industries top Artistic talent to help us create AAA content for Sony’s powerful new hardware. We just scratched the surface on what the Vita can do with Uncharted Golden Abyss and expect to push the platform even further with our future projects. Candidates must be passionate about their work and thrive in small-team environments where everyone inspires and pushes everyone else to create great games. The Bend Studio is looking for a Senior Staff Character Shader Texture Artist to contribute to the artistic vision and development of AAA products with a specialized focus on creating character texture maps and shaders utilizing a combination of traditional fine art and technical art skills.”

It certainly looks like Bend is on their way to develop a new game for the PlayStation Vita. With their work on an unannounced PlayStation 4 game, will the two coincide?

What do you expect it to be? Are you hoping for a return to Syphon Filter? Tell us in the comments!
