One of my favorite weeks on the gaming calendar is finally here! Twice a year, Games Done Quick assembles some of the world's most talented video game speedrunners for a week-long series of competitions and showcases. Pros will speed through games like Celeste, Symphony of the Night, and Super Metroid at near-record speeds, all while raising money for charity.

The event kicks off today, January 6th, at 11:30 Eastern and lasts all the way until roughly midnight on Saturday. As players complete their challenges, fans will be donating all week long. Those donations go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. If the last few events are any indication, around $2 million will likely be raised over the course of the next week. You can catch the stream live right here, and you can also check out the complete schedule to tune in for specific games.
